AESTHETIC FOREHEAD AND BROW LIFT
What is aesthetic forehead and temple lift (brow lift) surgery?
There are transverse lines on the forehead, which normally vary from person to person in depth. These lines between the eyebrows become vertical. As with facial skin, the forehead skin becomes saggy and loose and the existing lines deepen in parallel to getting older. Over time, the eyebrows descend and a tired looking face appears. Poor nutrition, smoking, non-regular lifestyle, stress, air pollution, inadequate skin care or no care at all, gravitational effect and facial expressions facilitate this aesthetic problem.
Who is a good candidate for this surgery?
This surgery is usually applied to men and women over the age of 40, who have no other health problems. With the forehead lift surgery, the lines are minimized. The eyebrows that are sagging towards the eye lifted and brought to where they should be, giving the person a fresh look and at the same time, a portion of the lines next to the eyes can also be eliminated to some extent. If there is excessive sagging and skin removal is required, the classical forehead lifting method is applied. In the classical method, a crown-style scar is left up to 4-5 cm behind the hairline, but this scar is hidden in the scalp. However, when this method is applied, a long-lasting temporary loss of sensation occurs in the scalp. Eyebrow lifting surgery, which is performed to bring the eyebrows to their normal place, is an operation inside the brow lift surgery. There is no need for an eyebrow lift surgery additionally. It is not a preferred method to lift eyebrows by entering only through the temple area and to partially lift forehead.
Surgery is performed in the hospital conditions, under the supervision of the anesthesiologist, in the operating room. As it can be performed with general anesthesia, local anesthesia and intravenous sedation can also be applied. It takes about 1.5-2 hours. It is possible to go home the same day. It can be applied at the same time with other aesthetic surgeries if needed. Then surgery and hospital stay time is prolonged.
